Tournament Information

Within the general club, we have a tournament team. The tournament team is comprised of the 8 best males and 8 best females. The top 4 males and top 4 females are our "A" team and the next best 4 males and females are our "B" team. We have an intrasquad tournament at the beginning of every fall semester to determine the year's tournament team. There is a challenge ladder for those who did not qualify in the intrasquad tournament, or who are new to the club who wish to challenge for one of the 16 tournament team spots.

We are a part of USTA's Tennis on Campus program and we are located in the Middle States Region. There are over 600 clubs nation-wide that compete in Tennis on Campus and our Middle States region is comprised of all colleges located in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.

All competitive events are scored World Team Tennis style. In each match there will be a men's and women's singles, a men's and women's doubles, and a mixed doubles match. Each match is a 6 game set with no ad scoring. The team who accumulates the most games by the end of the mixed doubles match wins the overall match. Player position in each match is decided by the club president.

Most tournaments start Saturday morning and end Sunday evening. All tournament fees are paid for by the club budget except for personal food expenses and transportation expenses (gas). Entry fees and lodging fees are covered by the club budget. If a tournament is more than 1 hour away, we will most likely stay overnight at a hotel.
